Default Class for me?

I have recently come back to GW and I wanted to start fresh. I have tried every class here and there some I liked more than others. I want to make 1 character to play on and use and make my new main.

Requirements for the character:

Good at Pve, Pvp.
Can Farm something for a profit.
Is versatile and can do other stuff not just run the same build the whole time.
Armor looks nice (This isnt a big thing)
Might go for survivor.
Can maybe be used as a Runner (Not a big thing)

I know that a sin can do everything but I really cant play another one so suggest to me any other class that you would think I would enjoy playing. Thanks for any help.

For PvP, all the Proph professions see regular play. The additional professions see niche play, with the exception of ritualists running flags in GvG and assassins in split builds.

For PvE, anything with high AoE damageusually dominates.

I would reccomend an ele, they can heal as ER healers, speed through campaigns as an SF ele, however, I don't think they see much play in elite missions (DoA, UW). In PvP the ele is usually one of the easier professions to play.

You need to focus more on what you want.

Every class in the game is a compromise they all have something they do really well.
Some things they do quite well and others they are pretty crap at.
You secondary fills in the gaps and boosts your strengths and or mitigates your weaknesses.

If you have played every class you already know their strengths and weaknesses and unlike us you know your preferred style of play.

Personally I would go necro its got a load of variations in build from its own skill base and its widely accepted in the game.
Since its a caster you could easily set it up with spirit builds so it could farm loads of places.
I think the male necro looks pretty crap but female ones are ok as is the armour.

At the moment I run mine with the lich costume and the halo and think she makes a pretty cute dark angel.

Running is probably a bit crappy never thought of trying it since minions and spirits tend to blast their way through so much of pve I tend to get anywhere I want eventually.
Not so much running as grinding.

i agree with gremlin, it does depend on your personal playstyle

it also depends on if you want a real challenge or if you just wanna hop on the bandwagon, like right now i think ritualists are just being overdone (and oh so poorly i might add)

runners are usually sin/war/derv, well those are the popular ones anyway (rangers seem to have been taken out of the running game, though i still do runs with mine)

Currently my main is an assassin. I love them because they do tons of damage, can tank, can farm, can run, and do a ton of secondaries. One of their deadliest things is A/D. It can do TONS of damage.

Sins are also great in high end areas and can run everywhere in GW thanks to A/W. Sins are also great in HM too. I vanquished most of GW with a sin.

I say sins are a smart choice to make.

I think the class you're looking for is Monk, it's quite versatile. It can farm things, run places, pretty much a staple character in any high end pve or any pvp team. If you don't like Monk I would go with Elementalist or Ranger. Imo.

All of this really depends on what you like, as most if not all classes can run with either their primary or secondary profession (had an ele run me from beacons to marhaans the other day). If you want a main char that is good at both pve, pvp well then I'd say Paragon is out of the question, Dervs arent used that much in PVP anymore either. the core classes are probably going to be your best bet other than assassin.

Warriors theyre fun, some armors look nice, mix, match armor. They are commonly used in pvp. They can provide a huge amount of support in pve through the skill save yourselves, aswell as dish out large amounts of damage, or provide loads of mob control through the use of Earthshaker.

Rangers are fun, I have seen rangers as runners in pvp, My first running char was a ranger, I had loads of fun with that ranger, they have good defense, survivability in pve, so survivor wouldnt be much of a problem, Rangers can provide dif roles in teams through there primary, secondary professions, a R/Rit can provide alot of damage through splinter Barrage. or you can simply play a shutdown ranger with a Broadhead Epidemic build.

Ele's can do tons of damage, like others have said are the easiest role in pvp, with the right build, you can blow through campaigns easily.

Necromancers are fun, have some nice armors. again with the use of the right secondary profession, a necromancer can provide pretty much any role. be a MM, do lots of damage on enemies with SS, Blood magic is fun.

Survivor isnt really a big deal as it can easily be accompliushed through kathy hammers, boxing, or some other way. in the end it all comes down to what you think is fun, fits you the most.

No they can't. Ele damage is futile compared to Mesmers and Necromancers, but they are fun to play (I've played my ele for almost 5 years now) and indeed easy in PvP. They are also very useful in Elite areas (DoA and UW as Emo, or OF tank in UW, or when SF finally gets nerfed [LOL] they can start tanking again)

Necromancers are also pretty cool, either AP MoP nuke stuff, or SS the hell out of shit, or make an army of minions etc etc, they are usefull and fun too

Mesmers have the best arsenal of armor-ignoring damage in the game, and provide HUGE amounts of AoE damage through VoR and Esurge, or AP Arcane Echo Chaos storm to shut down casters with your energy hate (you can get max 4 or 5 Chaos storms up at once if you're lucky with your AP targets, so 10*5*2 = -100 energy + Aneurysm = win )

Monks are boring, dah, but some people like it, so up to you..

It really depends on what you like to do, but these are the advantages of the profs right there..

E/A is a really good combo to get you through pretty much any area of any campaign except some Higher end game elite areas (or maybe I just suck?) like DoA etc. The Assassin Secondary is only for AP too, which IMO is the best E manage skill ever. Decent damage, high energy pool, and good energy management keep you moving.

Ele can get you though all elite areas, including FoW, people just don't take E/Me tanks there usually..

DoA: either Emo if you're pro, DwG if you wanna faceroll
UW: Emo/t1 are the most general ones, but all areas can be done by ele I think
FoW: E/Me sliver tank should get it done, but not a casual thing to see..

Hey guys I want to thank all of you for responding. I decided that I am going to play a Necro and a Ranger and a Mesmer at the same time and whichever one I like the most I will continue. Thanks again guys.
